Helping to ensure the safety of people living in southeastern Vermont
Emergency plans exist on the federal and state level, with communities encouraged to develop plans specific to their situations and needs. Two plans exist to help ensure the safety of people living in southeastern Vermont:
1. All-Hazards Emergency Response Plan
Addressing all potential hazards in the five-town district of southeastern Vermont.
2. Vermont Radiological Emergency Response Plan
For towns within the Emergency Planning Zone of Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant. These include the five-town district in Vermont as well as neighboring towns in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
