Tornado

Although tornadoes are more frequent in the Midwest and “Tornado Alley,” they can occur in any state, including Vermont. The state is at low risk with an average of one every two years or so. Sometimes the result of a thunderstorm or hurricane, tornadoes cause destruction with their intense wind velocity, propelling wind-blown debris, including lawn furniture and yard equipment, and downing trees.
