Winter Storms

Windham County gets its share of winter storms, which can sometimes be a daily occurrence. Major storms, however, can last for days and can be accompanied by severely cold temperatures, high winds, heavy snowfall, icing, sleet, or freezing rain. Related hazards are vehicle accidents on dangerous roads, exposure to the cold, fires caused by improper use of heaters, and downed electrical lines causing power outages.
