Radiological

Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee power station in Vernon uses fission of uranium fuel in its reactor core as the process by which it produces electricity. This process also produces radiation. Radiological accidents can occur wherever radioactive materials are used, stored or transported. In addition to nuclear power plants, hospitals, industries, major highways or railroads could be the site of a radiological accident.
