HazMat

A major chemical emergency is an accident that releases a hazardous amount of a chemical into the environment. Chemicals are found everywhere, from cleaning supplies to liquid farm fertilizers, and are used or stored in homes, stores and industrial businesses. Many of them can cause death and serious injury and damage property. A number of hazardous materials are shipped daily on Interstate 91 and other local and state highways, as well as on the Green Mountain railroad.
