RADIOLOGICAL
Fallout
A cloud of radioactive dust that is created by a nuclear explosion and settles back down to earth.
Potassium Iodide
A form of iodine that blocks the thyroid gland from exposure to radioactive iodine in the event of a nuclear emergency. It is only taken under the direction of public health officials. It is not a substitute for following emergency directives.
Radiation
Energy emitted in the form of rays or waves. Radiation is found naturally in many materials on earth and in space, and in man-made sources such as X-rays, radioactive tracers, or nuclear fuel.
