  • Tune in to your EAS radio station.
  • Check emergency supplies.
  • Bring in or secure outdoor equipment and furniture.
  • Fill clean or sanitized containers with drinking water.
  • Turn refrigerator and freezer to coldest settings; avoid frequent opening in the event of a power failure.
  • Move valuables to upper floors.
  • Stay indoors away from windows and doors.
  • Close windows and doors.
  • Avoid elevators in the event of a power failure.
  • Keep flashlight and extra batteries handy.
  • If power goes out, turn off appliances and electronics.
  • Continue to listen to your EAS radio station.
  • Be prepared to evacuate.
