The Emergency Response Plan

The five-town All-Hazards Emergency Response Plan was created to help ensure the safety of people living in Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford, Halifax and Vernon. The all-hazards plan speaks to emergency preparedness for a number of potential hazards, such as floods, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, train derailments, radiological events and chemical spills, among others. Many of these hazards have happened in the past and could happen again.

Safety is Your Responsibilty

As a resident of one of the five towns, you are part of the plan, too, and the ultimate responsibility for your safety is yours. Evidence shows that people who know and practice what to do in an emergency are less likely to panic and more likely to be safe. This section serves as a step-by-step guide to help you prepare in advance of an emergency.
